Lesson

Remember when you were a child and being told that lessons are usually learned the hard way? For example, when teachers tell students not to wait till the last minute to do your report or project and students wait the last minute anyways then end up stressing and regretting not listening in the first place. Well I have no clue why most human beings are programmed to have this kind of attitude. I say this because I fall into that category of those who learn lessons the hard way. The lesson that I learned the hard way would be "words are meaningless", whether the words are spoken by your family, best friend, significant other, or a stranger. Words can be manipulating and disappointing. Words can also give a person false hope. So, after nineteen years it just occurred to me that I shouldn't be so naive. Hopefully from this point on I'll be just a little bit more careful.

"Trust not a man’s words, but a man’s actions"
